HAND-TIED QUILTS

My hand-tied quilts are one of a kind works of art to live and love in!  The hand-tied quilts are made using a combo of machine and hand-sewn techniques.

ALL hand-tied quilts are hand-sewn around the binding because my mentor/friend Becky taught me that if I want them to be “heirloom quality” the edge must be hand-sewn…is it worth my time to make them and then they are not heirloom quality?  The hand-tied quilts are truly a labor of love.

The quilts make the ultimate  blanket for car seats, strollers, floor time, discreet feedings or snuggling in style!

The quilts are big enough to make special gifts for holidays and birthdays for kids of all ages. My children, ages from 1-10, every time I sew a blanket they ask for another!  They love choosing their fabrics and keep them for snuggling in the car, curling up in the living room and snoozing in their bedrooms.

QUILT STYLE C

Fabrics in 2 patterns(1 yd each) in the front piece in a checkered pattern with a solid back(2 yds) with a contrasting binding added and rolled to the front HAND-SEWN.  Pieces are sandwiching a quilters cotton-blend batting with complementary colored embroidery floss tying the pieces together.

QUILT STYLE A

Fabrics in 2 patterns (1˝ yd each) - one front and back sandwiching a soft cotton-blend batting tied with embroidery floss and a contrasting binding added then rolled to the front and HAND-SEWN.

SAMPLE OF QUILT STYLE A WITH A PICOT TRIM.

This quilt was made using chenille and flannel with a denim picot edge.

Extras - As if you didn’t make enough decisions in style B and C.  We have some extras that are sure to please!

Fringe the front piece. The pieces are sewn together in the reverse or almost backward position and then the exposed seem is cut into fringes.  Over time the fringe will soften the fray and is quite adorable. Denims and flannels work best for this.  Small extra fee for the carpal tunnel syndrome feeling from all the snipping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Add $8

Feel free to add a hand embroidered pocket on any style!  I’ll stitch on a pocket for the owner to hide little notes or goodies in.  I can monogram the pocket using embroidery floss in a chain stitch style to give it a real personalized flair!  $5

Picot Edge- Add a decorative edge made from cut fabric squares then folded into triangles and sewn into a strip to create a border. After the picots are sewn to the back piece of the fabric  they are hand –sewn in the front.  The additional fabric, cutting, sewing adds to the base price but it is darn cute!  $12

Hand Tied Quilt $40.00 plus any extras.
